The DeLorean is back and electric
Remember back to the future? The classic movie starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd, The iconic Nike air mag self lacing shoes and don't Forget one of the most famous cars in Hollywood The DeLorean DMC-12. There is almost a cult like nostalgia with car enthusiasts owning this classic car. The DeLorean Motor Company was founded in 1975 by John DeLorean. The DMC (DeLorean Motor Company) went bankrupt in 1982 but the brand name and parts were bought buy Stephen Wynne for the sole purpose of restoring classic DeLorean DMC-12s. But April 4th the company announced the next generation of DeLorean sports car is the DeLorean EVolved. The reimagined take on the classic DMC-12 is only a concept car, although the company did state they hope the concept catches on in hopes to mass produce the new electric version of the DMC-12. The new concept will include the iconic gull wing doors and be made to ride on more rugged terrain. The reveal will happen at the pebble beach concept lawn. I know I am very excited to see this new generation of the cult classic car on the road as I'm a sucker for pop culture. The San Antonio city council approved a $500,000 grant for DeLorean to build a new head quarters. This will open new revenue for the city and open about 450 new jobs. DeLorean now calling itself DeLorean Motors Reimagined got a over half A million tax abatement for the next 10 years approved by Bexar county.
